BENJAMIN BAKER
Benjamin was born in Denison, Texas in 1962. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) in 1986 with a B.A. degree in Political Science. Benjamin worked a full time job during college and was still able to graduate in the top 5% of his class. He attended the Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas, and graduated in 1989, with a Juris Doctor degree. During law school, Benjamin was a member of the Order of Barristers and the Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity.
Benjamin has had broad legal experience, which provided him exposure to many areas of legal practice. These areas include insurance defense, maritime law, criminal defense, commercial litigation, antitrust litigation, medical malpractice and the representation of person’s injured by the negligence of others. Mr. Baker began practicing family law in 1992 and as of 2002 that area has made up the bulk of his practice. He established his own practice in 2002 and maintains an office in Sherman, Texas.
Benjamin is admitted by the State of Texas to practice in all state courts, including all trial courts, appellate courts, and the Texas Supreme Court. Mr. Baker also maintains admission to practice in the United States Federal District Courts for the Eastern District of Texas, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Benjamin is a member of the Texas Family Law Foundation and the Grayson County Bar Association. Mr. Baker is also a sustaining member of the Baylor University School of Law Alumni Association.
Benjamin is a proud father of two daughters, a son, son-in-law and three grandchildren, who keep him busy when he is not working in the office. He is also a life-long Texas Rangers fan who maintains a perennial hope that “this is the year” that the Rangers bring a World Series Championship to Arlington.
